Just a friendly reminder...

As the temperatures begin to soar this summer, don't forget to check in on the elderly or infirm and make sure they are staying cool enough. Many people die every year from too much heat. A tragedy that could often be avoided by just a few minutes of concern for a fellow human being.

Also, don't forget to check your pets water dish and provide them shade if they are outdoor animals. Never leave a living thing in a car with the windows closed.

Enjoy the summer and be safe... We want you blogging with us for a long time to come.

Yesterday it was 95 degrees here. I saw a dog in a car with the windows rolled up. By the time I circled the block, the car was gone. It doesn't take long for heat to overcome any person or animal. PLEASE think how you would feel if you were put in that situation people!

Hi, I got here from Mona's blog, and I love what you have here, it's great!

I'm in Alberta, Canada, and last week our temperatures got to mid 80's (farenheit). When in the parking lot of a large grocery chain, I saw a small dog left in a vehicle with the windows "cracked" open a little bit, and as always it made me very angry. I was running in for a quick purchase and out again, and if the vehicle was still there with the poor dog in it I was going to make the call....as I did last summer when the same thing happened. (what are people thinking???) But this time when I came out, the authorities were already there as someone had already called, writing up a ticket, while the owner was outside the vehicle holding her precious cargo, still alive and well, thank you God!

I just watched the Miniature Earth video and I was stunned by it. You're right, it really made me grateful for what I do have, and brings my heart even closer to my fellow human beings who have less... Thanks for a great read!
