Good for the Questioning Soul

This book, to date, has been the most helpful when I have been in my deepest of pits. I have purchased many copies over the years for friends facing difficult times. I even ordered one in Spanish for a dear friend when he lost his mother.
When something tragic happens in our life, it can sometimes seem so unjust. This is particularly true if we try to live a GOOD life. We question our God, our Faith. When my husband died at such a young age, I not only questioned why it happened to ME but why it would happen to HIM. Harold S. Kushner helped me find peace. I could never recommend this book too much.

Rarely does a book come along that tackles a perennially difficult human issue with such clarity and intelligence. Harold Kushner, a Jewish rabbi facing his own child's fatal illness, deftly guides us through the inadequacies of the traditional answers to the problem of evil, then provides a uniquely practical and compassionate answer that has appealed to millions of readers across all religious creeds. Remarkable for its intensely relevant real-life examples and its fluid prose, this book cannot go unread by anyone who has ever been troubled by the question, "Why me?"
